"In the end, all business operations can be reduced to three words:
people, product and profits.
Unless you've got a good team, you can't do much with the other two."

 -Lee Iacocca

Conflict Resolution

Managing a work-based conflict requires sensitivity and know-how. It can be difficult for line managers to intervene in personality conflicts, yet resolution can mean the difference between engaged, productive employees (or teams) and those that perpetuate the conflict and create broader morale problems.

Sometimes conflicts and dissatisfaction result from one person who perhaps does not understand his/her impact on others. In that case, after the situation has been assessed,
individual coaching can be a next step that can ease the pressure.

Other times, conflicts arise when team members have different work or personality styles. Often a 1 to 2-hour team building session that focuses on personality/work styles is all that is needed to increase understanding and harmony among the team.

Finally, there are situations in which a team, department, or company is suffering from a pervasive low morale. High turnover or frequent sick days is often a symptom of morale issues. It is important to address low morale, as having a group in such a state is like having a bicycle you can’t ride.

Systems theory is a helpful model for understanding common stress responses at work.

There are tools and techniques that can be used with great success, and improvement can be measured by pre and post employee surveys.  The result will be happier, more productive employees, which can’t help but mean a better bottom line for the business.

Team Building

Most companies today understand that high functioning teams are much more productive than dysfunctional teams, or even teams that get the job done but aren’t fully engaged.

A strong, effective team will:

  • Be more productive

  • Achieve greater customer satisfaction

  • Have higher morale

  • Have more satisfied managers

How Team Building Can Help

  • Creates an environment in which people can discuss issues and develop solutions

  • Helps create a spirit of working together toward a common goal

  • Creates a group identity, which facilitates dedication and support among the team

  • Improves morale and can result in a more positive outlook (and output) from the team
Nuvate Solutions can help you determine the functioning level of your team(s), conduct team building exercises, and/or assist you in developing and implementing a team effectiveness strategy.
